Northland Astronomical Society The Northland Astronomical Society Incorporated (NAS) was formed in July 2000 with the purpose of promoting and educating the people of Northland in the many fascinating aspects of astronomy. Meetings are held regularly every month at our clubrooms, in the Heritage Park grounds off State Highway 14 at Maunu.

The Transit of Venus The Northland Astronomical Society will be setting up telescopes for the public to view the Transit of Venus down at the Whangarei town basin from 10:30am to 4:00pm on 6th June 2012. Come along and view this "unique in our lifetime" event. It will not happen again until the year 2111. For more information Click Here Our much awaited planetarium has been given a name.
